Présentation et Location

The Guinea ERC is located at the Boulliwel sub-division, Mamou prefecture. Boulliwel is situated at the Mamou Dalaba road, 39 Km from the city of Mamou and 15 Km from Dalaba. It is bounded in the North by the Dalaba Prefecture, in the South by the Tolo sub-division, in the East by the Poredaka sub-division, in the West by that of Koba.

The Boulliwel sub-division has a population of 13.856 inhabitants and covers a surface area of 487 Km2. It is sub-divided into 9 districts.

Objectives of the Boulliwel ERC

- Promote the United Nations ideals
- Promote a literate environment
- Develop partnership with all the stakeholders involved in the fight against illiteracy
- Participate in the socio-economic development of Guinea

ERC Strategy

The ERC strategy is based on the principles of

• Information, Training and Action

It is supported by a management committee comprising a President, a Secretary General, a Treasurer, a Coordinator of the activities (manager) and a Prefectoral Adviser.

The activities developed by the committee revolve around the above-mentioned objectives and aim to realise the principles and ideals of the United Nations system with a view to promoting better living conditions for the riparian populations.

Sectors of activity

The Boulliwel ERC intervenes in all areas falling under UNESCO’s domains of competence, particularly:

• the promotion of Education For All throughout life
• reproductive health (STD/AIDS, PF) of youths and teenagers
• the protection of the environment and natural resources
• local development
